Everquest 1 emulator

Everquest is a game we all should be familiar with; It is a game that helped bring MMOs( massively multplayer online) to where they are today. The game was made by a developer who was known to be on a cocaine binge most of the time the game was being made but i guess that help explains how the game got to be where it is today.

Everquest was released to gamers in 1999 and is still being played today. There are live servers which are servers hosted by SOE and has up to 17 expansions right now enabled and there are servers hosted on emulators. If you are on the internet reading this you know what emulators are so i will just save some time and not explain them but i will explain some things you may want to know.

You may be an Everquest 1 fan sitting there hoping for a game to come along and grab your fancy or you could not have heard of it until now but it is possible to play Everquest 1 right now for free. A website that can be found at http://www.eqemulator.org/ allows individuals to play the game that they loved for free. There you will be able to find information on servers, files needed and walkthroughs on how to get the gaming going.

To save you some time searching if you are after a server that replicates Everquest 1 servers you will want to go to www.project1999.org it does its best to duplicates live. All things found on the server is based off the knowledge of the developers and its community, if a person finds information elsewhere that shows the server to have false information then it gets changed. The main people behind this server are known as Rogean and Nilbog these two do an amazing job at tracking down hackers as well. Recently over 300 accounts were banned for using programs like macroquest and showeq. Multi-boxing is also not allowed so you are forced to group with others.

Another server is the EZserver which has a website at www.ezserveronline.com . Now this server is the exact opposite of project1999 it has content that was developed by the host of the server and does not follow live at all. There are raids but most just multi-box 12 characters or more to advance through everything. Instances are also on this server so you are not waiting for mobs and allows for you to use your time doing what you want to do.

There are numerous other servers that you are able to choose from also if none of these strike your fancy, solo servers included. If you need any help at all setting up the emulator or any questions just leave a comment.
